Day 34

3/11/2015

Psalm 145:15-18  (ESV) 15 The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. 16 You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of 17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works.18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Meditative thoughts:
How has the Lord always provided for my needs?
Whenever I call on the Lord, what assurance do these verses give me?

Psalm 145 (KJV)

V. 18. The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth, (their prayer being prompted by, and flowing from, true faith, and being strictly free from all hypocrisy and doubt.)

V. 19. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them, (probably not always in the manner in which they had imagined their deliverance, but always in agreement with their longing and therefore in true fulfillment of the prayer of faith,)

[Matt. 21:22-“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”; Mark 11:24- “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”esv]

V. 20a. The Lord preserveth all them that love Him, (whose faith finds its expression in childlike love and trust in Him:)

Ps 145 [TLSB comments: God is our King, and all generations and all the earth must hear about Him. He abounds in mercy, which extends to all His works. The Lord will draw near to those who fear Him (who have been broken by the Law). He drew near to us in Christ, our King. His Word resounds from generation to generation, bringing the kingdom of God to all the world and to us.
