Day 8

2/13/2015

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (ESV)
“Hear, O Israel:  The LORD our God, the LORD is one.  You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

Meditative thoughts:
Love is not love if it is forced, so why do I love God?
Why is God calling on me to love Him with all my soul and might?
How does Jesus influence my answers?

From Higher Things Reflections

Job 9:2 -- We know that only one Man was ever righteous before God. That Man is the God-man Jesus Christ our Lord. He's God Himself, His righteousness is God's righteousness. ...He bears our unrighteousness. He takes it as His own. (2 Cor 5:21). ...All that we think is holy and righteous and good is nothing but a polluted garment, a filthy rag. That's the garment Jesus takes for Himself. He wears it to the cross, dies in it, and leaves it in the tomb.

Now you're in Him. He became sin "that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." We no longer have our own righteousness but that of Jesus. He gives us His righteousness to wear at the holy Font. All that Jesus did counts for you. All that He suffered for you is credited to you. His life, death, and resurrection are yours.

In Jesus you are righteous before your heavenly Father right now, and you will be on the Last Day and for all eternity.
